Theruminantsonlyutilizeaproportionofthenbsp;ingestednutrientsfromforages.Therestisreturnedtotheenvironmentasexcreta.nbsp;Thereisaconceptthattheexcretaoftheseanimalsisafundamentalcomponenttoensurethesustainabilityofthepasturesystem,throughitsutilizationasorganicfertilizer.However,manyfactorsinterferewiththeutilizationoftheexcretasuchasammoniavolatilization,nitrateandpotassiumlixiviation,phosphorusfixationwhichcanmakethecyclingofnutrientsinefficient.Thisstudydiscussesthenutrientcyclesystem,involvingtheexcretaofruminantsanditsdistributioninthepasture,andtheeffectofthesenutrientsonthebotaniccomponentofthepasture.
