摘要

This essay looks at our human animality and tries to connectit with a concept of wild being, explored through a discussion ofselected writings of Merleau-Ponty, Aristotle’s De Anima and ClariceLispector’s novel Near to the Wild Heart. The thesis is that ourwild being underlies in an essential sense our rational being, despiteits threatening and destabilizing force. The animality gives riseto how the world is perceived by us, intertwined with our communionwith the world and communications with others in the social field.Animality is something that makes us never fully transparent, neverfully complete objects, to each other. We meet in this never completelyobjectifies; this wildness that is opaque and dark. Wild natureis raw, its threads interwoven in the tissue that is us and thatmakes us.
