Dear Editor,We are pleased that Cook et al1 have taken interest in ourMini Review article2 and appreciate the opportunity torespond to their concerns. However, it is unfortunate thatCook et al did not fully grasp the purpose of our review or thetheory behind it. The primary purpose of our manuscript wasto apply a multifactorial theory approach in our review ofapplicable literature on the etiology of idiopathic Parkinson’sdisease (PD) in relation to paraquat (PQ) exposure. We tookspecific aim at PQ herbicide as we presented evidence andadduced hypotheses on its relation to the pathology of PD at asub-cellular level and potential exposure routes through avaried environmental context.
