：Objective To investigate the effect of “Three Clarification” in nursing hand-over of critically ill patients in the internal medicine department. Methods 〓A “Three Clarification” management had been adopted in nursing hand-over of critically ill patients since October 2018. Totally 83 critically ill patients were recruited as the control group between July and September 2018, another 88 patients were included as the intervention group between October and December 2018. The knowledge level of nurses, nursing quality and duration of nursing hand-over were assessed before and after implementation of “Three Clarification” management. Results 〓Totally 25 nurses participated in the assessment, and they had achieved a better outcome of nursing specific knowledge assessment(96.71±8.66 vs 88.31±7.17, t=10.673,P0.01). The score of nursing quality assessment was higher in the intervention group than that in the control group(P0.01). The duration of nursing hand-overin the intervention group was shorter than that in the control group(P0.01). Conclusion 〓The “Three Clarification” management can enhance the knowledge level of nurses, improve the quality of critical care and shorten the duration of nursing hand-over.
