:Objective To analyze the career cognition of Chinese nurses who had obtained a master's degree in Nursing in the UK, and provide reference for the career development of nursing specialists. Methods 〓A questionnaire-based survey was conducted to investigate the general information, motivation of studying aboard, studying objectives and career prospects of 37 nurses who had obtained a master's degree in Nursing in the UK. Results 〓In terms of motivation, 94.59 %( 35/37)of nurses thought that they could broaden their horizons, improve ability of studying scientifically and enhance their competitiveness. There were 34(91.89%)nurses who considered the spoken language ability and curriculum requirements as importance issues during studying. In terms of career prospects, 89.19%(33/37)of nurses returned to work in their previous units, 72.97%(27/37)chose to work as researcher in Nursing Science. Conclusion 〓Nurses with experience of studying abroad have strong career prospects, career cognition, career plan and role expectations. They are willing to provide new motivation for stabilizing nursing team and development of nursing career.
