Abstract:Objective To investigate the preventive and nursing management of lower extremity venous thrombosis in patients with hepatobiliary malignancies. Methods A total of 300 patients with hepatobiliary malignancies from January 2012 to December 2012 were retrospectively collected and set as the control group, and another 308 patients from January 2013 to December 2013 were enrolled as the observation group. The control group received conventional nursing care and the observation group was given standardized nursing interventions. The preventive effect of lower extremity venous thrombosis was compared between two groups. Results The incidence of lower extremity venous thrombosis was 0.3%(1/308) in the observation group and was 2.3%(7/300) in the control group, with a significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion The risk of venous thrombosis of lower extremity in patients with hepatobiliary malignancies could be effectively prevented by scientific and rational nursing methods during the perioperation period.
