Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical effect of Fuhuang ointment combined with warm compress in treatment of subcutaneous hematoma in patients with arteriovenous fistula. Methods A total of 20 patients with subcutaneous hematoma after creating arteriovenous fistula for hemodialysis were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, with 10 cases in each group. The control group was given warm compress combined with hirudoid cream, while the observation group was applied with Fuhuang ointment combined with warm compress. The hematoma remission condition at 3 days after intervention and pain degree at 24 hours after subcutaneous hematoma onset was observed. The arteriovenous fistula related complications were observed during 6 month follow-up. Results Hematoma remission condition was better in the observation than that of control after treatment, with a significant difference(P0.05). Patients had less degree of pain and incidence of complications compared with those in the control group, but with no significant difference(P0.05). Conclusion Fuhuang ointment combined with warm compress is effective in treatment of subcutaneous hematoma in patients with arteriovenous fistula.
