Kiwifruit propagation from root cuttings

Abstract Root cuttings taken in winter and spring and placed horizontally in trays of sand on a heated mist bench provided an effective method of propagation of kiwifruit (Actinidia chinensis,cv. Abbott). Cuttings taken at other times of the year produced shoots less readily. Shoot regeneration from root cuttings was increased by treatment with sucrose and benzylaminopurine.
