:Objective To analyze the potential risk factors exposing the surgical nurses, and to investigate the effect of risk management based on behaviors changes. Methods 〓Based on the survey about occupational exposure among surgical nurses, a behavioral safety management and educational training were conducted. The scores of preventive behavior assessment and awareness of occupational risk prevention among nurses were evaluated before and after implementation of risk management. Results 〓Nurses achieved a higher total score and factor scores of preventive behavior assessment after the implementation of risk management(P0.01). There was an increased awareness on route of infection, hand hygiene, infection prevention, safety injection, indication of changing surgical gloves after implementation of risk management(P0.01). Conclusion 〓The risk management based on safety occupational behavior can effectively improve the awareness of occupational risk prevention among surgical nurses. It can reduce the exposure to occupational hazard by regulating the behavior of nurses.
