Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of evidencebased nursing on the quality of life and the prevention of vascular dementia in elderly patients with cerebral vascular disease. Methods A total of 100 senile patients with cerebral vascular disease were divided into control group and observation group, 50 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were given basic nursing measures, while patients in the observation group were given evidencebased nursing measures. Quality of life and incidence rate of vascular dementia after two years were compared between two groups. Results Compared with the control group, the indexes of quality of life in the observation group were significantly better (P0.05). The incidence rates of mild, moderate and severe vascular dementia after two years in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P0.05). The mortality rate of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P0.05). Conclusion Implementation of evidencebased nursing for elderly patients with cerebral vascular disease can effectively improve quality of life and reduce the incidence rate and mortality of vascular dementia.
