The insect complex of sown pastures in the North Island

Summary A sweep-sampling survey carried out during the summer of 1957 revealed 68 species of Diptera in the nine main pasture types found in the North Island. The identity, distribution, and abundance of many of these species are indicated, and their possible economic importance is discussed.
