Abstract：Objective To observer and compare the effect between patientoriented nursing interventions and routine nursing care for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) complicated with respiratory failure. Methods A total of 82 COPD patients complicated with respiratory failure were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, with 41 cases in each group. Both two groups were given comprehensive treatment and nursing care, and the observation group was applied with patientoriented nursing intervention. The cardiopulmonary function was observed and satisfaction of patients to nursing service was compared between two groups. Results There was no significant difference in heart rate, respiratory rate, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure between two groups. The observation group had a higher satisfaction rate compared with the control group (P＞0.05)(97.56% vs. 82.93%, P＜0.05). Conclusion The patientoriented nursing interventions can improve the satisfaction degree of COPD patients complicated with respiratory failure during treatment period.
