:Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)external treatment of subcutaneous embedding of thumb-tack needle combined with Daochi powder in the treatment of sleep disorders in patients with sudden deafness with liver-fire ascending syndrome. Methods 〓Totally 120 patients with sleep disorders andsudden deafness with liver-fire ascending syndrome were assigned to the control group(n=60, 70 ears)and the observation group(n=60, 72 ears). The control group was given TCM decoction of Daochi powder, and the observation group was given subcutaneous embedding of thumb-tack needle combined with Daochi powder. Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI), Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and acoustic impedance test were used to compare PSQI, SAS and hearing outcomes before and after treatment. Results 〓After treatment, the average scores of PSQI, SAS score and hearing loss of the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, and the combined treatment resulted in a better improvement of PSQI, SAS score and hearing loss(P0.01). Therate of treatment efficacyon sudden deafnesswas 95.00% in theobservation group and 81.67% in the control group, with a significant difference(P0.05). Conclusion 〓The subcutaneous embedding of thumb-tack needle combined with Daochi powder is effective to relieve the tinnitus and dizzinesssymptoms and improve the sleep quality of patients with sleep disorders andsudden deafness with liver-fire ascending syndrome.
