：Objective To investigate the effect of Kangfuxin Solution combined with mental interventions on acute radiation esophagitis(ARE)and quality of life in patients with esophageal cancer. Methods 〓A total of 84 patients with esophageal cancer were selected and randomly divided into research group(n=42)and control group(n=42). After both groups were given intensity modulated radiotherapy(IMRT), patients in control group received routine care, while those in research group took Kangfuxin Solution orally and received mental interventions. Results After radiotherapy, the symptom of ARE in research group were relieved more significantly compared with that in control group(Z=- 5.139, P0.001), the eating status of research group was obviously better than that of control group(χ2=28.339, P0.001), there was no patient in research group who discontinued treatment, and difference was significant when compared with control group(χ2=4.638, P=0.025), the total scores of the quality of life in research group were higher than those of control group(t=13.865, P0.001). Conclusion 〓Application of Kangfuxin Solution plus mental interventions could prevent and treat ARE, reduces radiation reactions, and improve the quality of life of patients, which is of positive significance to recovery of patients with esophageal cancer after radiotherapy.
