Abstract:A peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC)is a form of intravenous access which can avoid tissue damage caused by extravasation of cancer chemotherapeutic drugs. However, the PICC-related complications, such as phlebitis, catheter blockage, hypersensitivity reactions and so on, may influence the treatment efficacy. This study summarized the clinical data and nursing management of severe skin hypersensitivity after PICC catheterization in one patient. Nursing measures included evaluation of illness, drug administration, dietary guidance and psychological care.
