:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of early traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)nursing interventions for elderly patients with cerebral infarction. Methods 〓Totally 64 elderly patients with cerebral infarction were divided into the observation group and the control group, with 32 cases in each group. Patients of both two groups received comprehensive treatment and routine nursing management, and those in the observation group were given early TCM nursing interventions. The NIH Stroke Scale(NIHSS)and Barthel Index(BI)were used to evaluate the neurologic function and activity of daily living of patients. The Stroke Rehabilitation Assessment of Movement(STREAM)and Manual Muscle Test(MMT)were used to assess the limb and motor function of patients. Results 〓The NHISS score decreased significantly in both groups compared with baseline(P0.05), and the NHISS score in observation group were significantly lower than that in control group after nursing interventions(P0.05). The scores of BI and STREAM improved significantly in both groups compared with baseline(P0.05), and the BI and STREAM scores in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group after nursing interventions(P0.05). The MMT score decreased significantly in both groups compared with baseline(P0.05), and the MMT score in observation group were significantly lower than that in control group after nursing interventions(P0.05). Conclusion 〓On the base of routine rehabilitation nursing, early TCM nursing interventions are potentially effective to improve the neurologic function, limb function, muscle function and living ability of patients with cerebral infarction.
