Bacterial blight of peas caused by Pseudomonas pisi Sackett, 1916 in New Zealand

Abstract A serious outbreak of bacterial blight of peas caused by Pseudomonas pisi Sackett, 1916 has occurred in Canterbury, New Zealand. Symptoms of the disease are described, cultural and biochemical characters of the pathogen are detailed, and an outline is given of the most important methods by which the pathogen is likely teo spread.
