Chemical sterilisation of the green sheep blowfly, lucilia sericata meigen, with “apholate”

Abstract “Apholate,”* applied topically to adult Lucilia sericata Meigen or mixed with the food of either the larvae or the adults, caused partial or complete sexual sterility. Adults showed no preference for treated or untreated food. Mating competitiveness of treated male flies was at least equal to that of untreated flies.
