Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of health education combined with psychological nursing intervention on breastfeeding rate and related cognitive situation of puerpera. Methods A total of 506 puerpera were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 253 cases in each group. Both of two groups were given conventional postpartum care, and the observation group was applied with health education combined with psychological nursing intervention additionally. The breastfeeding rate 24 hours and 48 hours after delivery were compared, and the cognitive situation of puerperal to breastfeeding was assessed. Results The breastfeeding rate 24 hours and 48 hours after delivery was 49.8% and 74.3% in the observation group respectively, which was significant higher than 35.2% and 50.6% in the control group (P<0.05). In assessment of breastfeeding knowledge, The observation group had higher outcomes in knowledge control, breastfeeding skill and self care compared with the controls (P<0.05). ConclusionIn addition to the conventional postpartum care, the health education combined with psychological nursing intervention can improve the breastfeeding rate and related cognitive situation of puerperal after delivery.
