Abstract：Objective To investigate the acupoint injection combined with abdominal massage on gastric retention after receiving enteral nutrition in patients with mechanical ventilation. Methods 〓Totally 68 patients receiving enteral nutrition support during mechanical ventilation treatment were randomly allocated into the control group(n=40)and the treatment group(n=40). Both two control groups received routine care and abdominal massage, and the additional Metoclopramide Dihydrochloride injection in Zusanli acupoint was applied in the treatment group. Results 〓The incidence of gastric retention, abdominal distension and vomiting in the treatment group was lower than those in the control group(P0.05). The averaged abdominal perimeter was(81.00±2.50)cm in the treatment group, which was lower than(86.00±2.30)cm in the control group(P0.01). Conclusion 〓Metoclopramide Dihydrochloride injection in Zusanli acupoint combined with abdominal massage can reduce the risk of gastric retention, abdominal distension and vomiting after receiving enteral nutrition in patients with mechanical ventilation.
