‘Grasslands Milford’ dryland browntop (Agrostis castellana Boiss. & Reut.)

Abstract ‘Grasslands Milford’ dryland browntop (Agrostis castellana Boiss. & Reut.) was bred for lawns, light playing surfaces, and parks in New Zealand, on sites that are generally too dry for normal browntop (A. capillaris L.). Milford dryland browntop survives and recovers from drought better than normal browntop. It has more growth activity and a deeper colour in winter than most browntop cultivars, but may be less attractive in colour during spring and wet summers.
