摘要

An investigation was conducted at Floriculture Unit of Main Agricultural Research Station, UAS, Dharwad during?the year 2008-09 to evaluate the effect of nitrogen and phosphorus levels on growth and yield of garland chrysanthemum. The?study revealed that number of flowers per plant was found maximum at 150 kg nitrogen and 100 kg phosphorus per ha with?potassium at 100 kg ha-1 during both kharif and rabi seasons. With every increase in nitrogen level, at a constant level of?phosphorus there was increase in plant height. A similar effect was also observed in phosphorus. Number of branches, number?of leaves and leaf area per plant were at maximum with 150 kg nitrogen + 100 kg phosphorus followed by 200 kg nitrogen +100 kg phosphorus and 150 kg nitrogen + 150 kg phosphorus per ha. The total dry matter that accumulated at the end of plant?life period was at maximum with 150 kg nitrogen + 100 kg phosphorus per ha.
