Established over the past decade, stable and full length gas supply system of the city of Yakutsk and the central industrial hub of the Republic of Sakha creates a stable, confident presentation of the complete and final solution to all the problems of ensuring natural gas to all its consumers. At the same time expands gas supply network, developed major projects based on the use of significant quantities of natural gas. However, there are certain risks associated with both raw materials security and reliability of the gas transportation system. Low gas recovery depleted fields, incorrect operation of the existing deposits, the high level of wear and the unfinished main gas pipelines does not allow us to speak about the reliability of energy supply in Central Yakutia. An urgent task is to backup gas supply for leveling adverse situations through the creation of an underground gas storage facility around Yakutsk. In terms of the budget deficit and the lack of localized contrast allocated studied structures near Yakutsk, search and arrangement of an underground gas storage facility it is expedient to combine the search for new deposits on the territory of Central Yakutia. As highlighted in the following promising deposits complexes within the north-western and northern slopes of the Yakut raising: the Permian-Triassic, Vendian-Cambrian and Upper Jurassic-Lower Cretaceous. From geological point of view on this territory there are all factors that determine the petroleum potential: the presence of known oil and gas complexes, a favorable combination of permeable and shielding thickness, a high probability of detection of structural and lithologic traps, and the last recorded direct signs of oil and gas potential in the form of free gas presence according to well testing. It is noted that the territory of the northern and north-western slope of the Yakut raising is necessary to put in priority funded by the federal budget plan of geological study and reproduction of raw hydrocarbon base.
