The work describes theoretical foundations of selective petroleum products modification based on electromagnetic effects in the field of nuclear magnetic resonance. Product electromagnetic modification implicates radiation-to-molecular energy interaction. When oscillator frequency coincides with frequency of nuclear magnetic resonance, isomerization process is possible with less energy consumption, compared to classical heating treatment. Electromagnetic wave frequency in reactor is supposed to be tuned to a chosen specific molecule's frequency in the premix; thus property of petroleum products can be modified according to parameters desired. Thereof industrial wastage can be substantially reduced. The article presents general construction of petroleum products modification system. The system consists of a dielectric tank, containing oil products to be treated. The tank is surrounded by orthogonal AC and DC magnetic field generators. This scheme is essential for nuclear magnetic resonance creation. Tank outlet is supplied with a stream analyzer, which allows to perform running quality control of treated petroleum products. Also, main generator construction is described. The work employs orthogonal AC and DC magnetic field generator. Further on, special functioning algorithms are described. On the basis of data obtained from amplitude and phase detectors, these algorithms allow to promptly adjust electromagnetic radiation frequency to this of nuclear magnetic resonance. Thus, the setup, developed by constructors, provides possibility to make the best use of nuclear magnetic resonance effect. At present, experiment are being performed, aimed to improve petroleum and diesel oil products quality
