Environmental pollution, industrialization, overpopulation and deficit of urban green areas is a significant cause of diseases in the modern civilization. One of the most important reasons for this state of affairs is the fact that our towns and cities lack recreation places such as parks and gardens. The situation does not seem to be undergoing any changes or as if it were going to improve in the nearest future. Because of that fact people have to find some new solutions. Spontaneous formation of new relaxation places is a frequent occurrence, especially in case of barren landscapes. The aim of this dissertation is to present the role of synanthropic plants in urban places of relaxation. It is also to indicate their aesthetic value and possible risks for people who relax in barren lands.
