I was so grateful when I received the news that I wouldbe able to attend the 2018 NASIG conference in Atlanta,which turned out to be even better than I hadexpected! I was especially grateful for theopportunities to present at the student spotlightsession, to meet my NASIG mentor (Steve, who is superfriendly and made me feel completely at ease), and toattend such a variety of sessions with such interestingpeople. By attending, I feel like I deepened myknowledge of technical services and collections-relatedissues in academic libraries especially, and I made anumber of connections with American colleagues whowent to great lengths to explain how Americaninstitutions work in comparison to the Canadian onesI'm used to.
