Fibroblastic Polyp (FP)/Perineurioma of the Colon

A 54 years old man undergoing colonoscopy had a 0.5 cmpolyp excised at 20 cm. The polyp demonstrated mucosalproliferation of monomorphic spindle cells withseparation, entrapment and disorganization of coloniccrypts. Disorganization of muscularis mucosae as well asa few eosinophils admixed with tumor cells were appreciated.No mitotic figures, atypia or necrosis was present.
