The main insect pests affecting poplar plantations in Italy: updates and perspectives

Abstract: The main insect pests affecting poplar plantations in Italy: updates and perspectives. An update of the main insect pests causing significant damage to poplar plantations in Italy is here provided. The recent introduction of a few highly dangerous invasive alien pests as well as the increasing importance of secondary pests infesting poplar trees physiologically stressed by climate change are discussed. A short comment about induced damage and possible control strategies is provided for each pest.
