Canal Isabel Ⅱ invests for the future as it battles to restore brand credibility

Rafael Prieto, CEO and executive vice-president of Madrid's water and waste-water utility Canal Isabel II (CYII), has defended his company's long-term record, despite ongoing judicial investigations into its financial dealings and the decision to sell off its international assets. "We've all had our successes and made our mistakes, but nobody [at CYII] has put the requirements of something as essential as water in jeopardy for the sake of short-term objectives," he told GWI in an interview at CYII's elegant modernist headquarters in Madrid this month.
