IlluminaInfiniumHumanMethylation(HM)BeadChipsarewidelyusedformeasuringgenome-scaleDNAmethylation,particularlyinrelationtoepigenome-wideassociationstudies(EWAS)studies.ThemethylationprofileofhumansamplescanbeassessedaccuratelyandreproduciblyusingtheHM27BeadChip(27,578CpGsites)oritssuccessor,theHM450BeadChip(482,421CpGsites).Todatenomouseequivalenthasbeendeveloped,greatlyhinderingtheapplicationofthismethodologytothewiderangeofvaluablemurinemodelsofdiseaseanddevelopmentcurrentlyinexistence.Wefound1308and13,715probesfromHM27andHM450BeadChiprespectively,uniquelymatchedthebisulfiteconvertedreferencemousegenome(mm9).WedemonstratereproduciblemeasurementsofDNAmethylationattheseprobesinarangeofmousetissuesamplesandinamurinecelllinemodelofacutemyeloidleukaemia.Intheabsenceofamousecounterpart,theInfiniumHumanMethylationBeadChiparrayshaveutilityformethylationprofilinginnon-humanspecies./p/div
