摘要

This article analyzes the ontological meaning of the wave function. According toprotective measurement, the mass and charge of a charged quantum system are distributed inspace, and the mass and charge density in each position is proportional to the modulus squaredof the wave function of the system there. It is shown that the mass and charge density isformed by the ergodic motion of a localized particle with the total mass and charge of thesystem. Moreover, it is argued that the ergodic motion is not continuous but discontinuousand random. Based on this result, we suggest that the wave function in quantum mechanicsdescribes the state of random discontinuous motion of particles, and the modulus squared of thewave function gives the probability density of the particles being in certain locations in space.
