Reflections on nature preservation and conservation in environmental protection areas in Brazil

The man-nature correlation sculpts society and culture in a given historical period; environmental movements are also the result of this relationship. The different lines of forms of environmental protection, tools of public policy which can be denominated preservationist and conservationist, are the object of study of this work, applied to types of preservation areas in Brazil. This research was carried out through exploratory bibliographic research, with a quali-quantitative approach, showing that the man-nature relationship, when analyzed from an ethical and historical point of view, outlines the various environmentalist lines. It was also noticed that the growing number of protected areas highlights the strength of environmental movements. The decrease in the areas of protection and conservation, leads to reflections on the strength of the capital, which determines the advancement of cultivable areas or pastures, causing serious consequences for biodiversity and traditional people in deprived areas.
