摘要

The increasing importance of wirelesscommunications, involving electronic devices, has been widelyrecognized. Performance is a crucial issue, leading to morereliable and efficient communications. Security is also criticallyimportant. Laboratory measurements were performed aboutseveral performance aspects of Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 a, b, g)WPA2 point-to-multipoint links. Our study contributes to theperformance evaluation of this technology, using availableequipments (DAP-1522 access points from D-Link andWPC600N adapters from Linksys). New detailed results arepresented and discussed, namely at OSI levels 4 and 7, fromTCP, UDP and FTP experiments: TCP throughput, jitter,percentage datagram loss and FTP transfer rate. Comparisonsare made to corresponding results obtained for WPA2point-to-point and Open point-to-multipoint links. Conclusionsare drawn about the comparative performance of the links.
