Outcome of the public consultation on the draft opinion providing clarification of some aspects related to genotoxicity assessment

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) carried out a public consultation to receive input from thescientific community and all interested parties on the clarification of some aspects related togenotoxicity assessment. The draft opinion was prepared by a dedicated working group of theScientific Committee and endorsed by the Scientific Committee for public consultation at its plenarymeeting of 12-13 July 2017. The public consultation for this document was open from 24 July to 6September 2017. EFSA received 216 comments from 18 interested parties. EFSA’s ScientificCommittee wishes to thank all stakeholders for their contributions. This report presents statistics onthe comments received and provides a summarised description of how the comments were addressedin the finalisation of the document. The stakeholders valuable and detailed comments were taken intoaccount by the Scientific Committee to prepare an updated version of the opinion providingclarification of some aspects related to genotoxicity assessment. The opinion was discussed andadopted at the Scientific Committee plenary meeting on 16 November 2017, and is published in theEFSA Journal.
