Analysis of a Naval Propulsion System with the Electric Motor Mounted in the Propeller Sheath

摘要

The paper deals with a naval propulsion system in which the propeller is directly driven, on the periphery, byan electric motor. This configuration enables an increase of the propulsion efficiency. The motor used issynchronous, with permanent magnets, free of slots. The construction and the experimental results are alsopresented.
