The information base for the determination of the solvency and profitability of theorganization has traditionally been a balance sheet. However, whether the balance sheet isable to give satisfactory answers to all these questions at the same time? Development of thetheory and practice of accounting during the twentieth century shows that the answer to thisquestion is controversial enough. The article is an attempt to understand the theory of staticand dynamic balance sheet.
