Artificial intelligence (AI) proffers the ability of computer systems toperform human brain tasks across various topics in all aspects of everydaylife. Most clinical physicians are sceptical about the help that AI mayprovide in their current medical practice. In this commentary, we aim toprovide readers with insight on our experience -including all the benefitsand pitfalls- since the implementation of an AI programme in ourhospital within an infectious disease setting. Our aim for such programmewas to create a set of tools to support more objective, and accurate,clinical decision-making processes.
