To investigate the effect of simultaneous addition of Al_(2)O_(3) and MgO on the liquid phase area for the CaO–SiO_(2)–FeO_(x ) system, liquidus for the CaO–SiO_(2)–FeO_(x )–2.5mass%Al_(2)O_(3)–2.5mass%MgO system were measured at 1573 K with various oxygen partial pressures by using chemical equilibration technique. By the addition of Al_(2)O_(3) and MgO to the CaO–SiO_(2)–FeO_(x ) system, the liquid phase area enlarges with the oxygen partial pressure of 1.8×10~(?3) Pa. The liquid phase area separates into two liquid phase areas with the oxygen partial pressure of 0.18 Pa. The liquid phase area shrinks at low SiO_(2) region with the oxygen partial pressure of 2.1×10~(2) Pa.
