The Lindley distribution is one of the important for studying stress--strength reliability modeling. Besides, some researchers have proposed new classes of distributions based on modifications of the quasi Lindley distribution. In this paper, a new generalized version of this distribution which is called the transmuted quasi Lindley (TQL) distribution is introduced. A comprehensive mathematical treatment of the TL distribution is provided. We derive the rthmoment and moment generating function this distribution. Moreover, we discuss the least squares, weighted least squares and the maximum likelihood estimation of this distribution.
