摘要

The present paper provides a critical review about the various techniques in the detection of antipersonnel landmines used the recent past (from 1999 onwards). We have taken into consideration only those techniques which produce some kind of image and have been beneficial in detection of landmines hidden in shallow vegetation or soil. Our aim is to identify and analyse the effectiveness of such techniques in humanitarian de-mining operations in the developing countries where mine clearing prove to be very difficult due to lack of proper facilities and presence of huge population. Most of the images used and experimental results reproduced in this paper have been taken from existing works.
