Using R-NSGA-II in the Transmission Expansion Planning Problem for a Deregulated Power System with Wind Farms

摘要

One of the important issues in deregulated power system is transmission expansion planning (TEP) problem. In a competitive market, a lot of constrains such as investment cost, reliability (adequacy and security), and congestion cost should be considered in the TEP; therefore, the TEP can be considered as a multi objective optimization problem. Also, using wind turbines imposes the uncertainties which increase the complexity of the TEP problem. In this paper, a genetic based algorithm, the R-NSGA-II algorithm, which is able to solve the multi objective optimization problem, is used to solve the TEP while the wind turbines provide power. To show the capabilities of the proposed solution, simulation has been done on the IEEE 24-bus test system.
