Disclosed in embodiments of the present invention are a converter and an electric control system for a wind farm power transmission system, and a power transmission system. The converter comprises three cascaded power strings, wherein each of the cascaded power strings comprises a first output terminal and a second output terminal, a star connection is formed among the first output terminals of the cascaded power strings, and the second output terminals of the cascaded power strings form a three-phase output of the converter; and a three-phase input of the cascaded power string is connected to an electric generator of a wind turbine generator set, and the electric generator comprises a direct-driven wind turbine generator or a doubly-fed generator. According to the converter provided by the embodiments of the present invention, the output voltage of the converter can be increased, the output current can be reduced, the loss of the overall machine system can be reduced, and the use of a large number of low-voltage cables can be reduced, thereby alleviating the cable loosening pressure of a fan system and improving the stability of the wind farm power transmission system.
