Graphene: A Comprehensive Review on Its Utilization in Carbon Paste Electrodes for Improved Sensor Performances

摘要

Nowadays, Graphene (Gr), a 2-dimensional sp -hybridized carbon sheet has been considered a hotmaterial. It has received tremendous amount of attraction owing to some extraordinary features such assuperb electrical and thermal conductivities and high mechanical strength. Hence, it has been usedwidely in electrochemistry in order to achieved desired sensitivities. Very recently, it has been utilizedfor the development of various paste types electrodes due to their simple preparation methods, costeffectiveness and easy recycling. Several reports appeared on the utilization of pure graphene pasteelectrode (GPE), modified GPE and modifications of traditionally prepared carbon paste electrode(CPE) with Gr for sensitive determination of various analytes. The goal of this review is to focus on allthe applications of Gr in paste type of electrodes which have been appeared in literature. This reviewhas been written in summary style and encompasses the fabrication schemes, electrochemicaldetermination methods, characterization techniques, and analytical performances from all thecontributions made on this topic.
