摘要

The effect of three compounds of cationic surfactants of olyel-amido derivatives on the corrosion ofcarbon steel in 1.0 M HCl solution was studied using weight loss galvanostatic, polarizationmeasurements and potentiodynamic anodic polarization techniques. The inhibition efficiency wasfound to increase with increasing concentration, number of polyethelene diamine unit and withdecreasing the temperature. The inhibitive effect of these compounds was explained on the basis ofadsorption on the metal surface. The adsorption process follows Freundlich adsorption isotherm. Someactivated thermodynamic parameters were computed and discussed. The olyel-amido derivativesprovide a good protection to steel against pitting corrosion by shifting the pitting potential in the nobledirection.
