An antifouling coating was prepared with the polyaniline(PANi) as conductive filler, chlorine etherresin as film forming material, and methylsulfonic acid as doping acid as well as other additives. Theinfluences of PANi content on the coating conductivity, physical properties and chemical resistantperformance were studied. The electrochemical behavior of the electrode painted by the coating wasinvestigated by Tafel analysis and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements. Resultsshowed conductive properties were significantly influenced by the mass ratio of doping acid/PANi,and when the mass ration of doped methylsulfonic acid/PANi was 1:1, surface resistance obtained alowest value. Conductive properties, chemical substances resistance and anti-corrosion properties ofconductive coatings were all affected by the concentration of PANi added: the concentration of PANiadded in the coating should be controlled in the range from 15% to 25% range, where it had bothperfect conductive property and unique corrosion property. Electrolysis tests showed that an electrodemade by the conductive coating could produce a certain concentration of HOCl, so as to achieve theanti-fouling purpose.
