The ecosystems which represent the natural diversity provides basic essential economic benefits to humans within the environment, hence any activity that degrades the environment will have adverse effects on humans. In this study the potential impact of some trace metals on the biodiversity of the Bodo oil spill environment was carried out using atomic absorption spectroscopy. The concentration of Fe ranges from 3.26 to 31.52 ppm, Zn ranges from 39.44 to 80.69 ppm, Pb ranges from 8.33 to 25.00 ppm, Cu ranges from 2.14 to 6.43 ppm, The concentration of Cr is 2.94 ppm for all samples, Cd is 0.33 ppm, Ni ranges from 1.79 to 8.93 ppm, Mn ranges from 0.56 to 2.25 ppm, V ranges 0.65 to 0.72 ppm, Co ranges from 0.46 to 0.53 ppm. Trace metal fingerprints and ternary plots for the oils shows that the metal distribution for each oil seems to have a distinct distribution but fair similarity of trace metals distribution. The toxicity data indicates that the concentration of the suite of trace metals analyzed in this study are below the acute toxicity level of the metals relative to the environment.
