Simultaneous Determination of Phenylhydrazine, Hydrazine and Sulfite Using a Modified Carbon Nanotube Paste Electrode

A sensitive and selective electrochemical method for the determination of phenylhydrazine (PH) wasdeveloped using a modified carbon nanotube paste electrode. It has been found that under the optimumcondition (pH 5.0) in cyclic voltammetry, the oxidation of PH occurred at a potential of about 250 mVon the surface of the modified electrode. The linear range of 0.6 to 900.0 M and a detection limit of-7 1.31 10 M were observed for PH in optimum conditions. The modified electrode showed anexcellent character for electrocatalytic oxidization of PH, hydrazine (HZ) and sulfite (ST). Finally, thismethod was also examined as a selective, simple and precise electrochemical sensor for thedetermination of PH, HZ and ST in real samples such as urine and water samples.
