We study the local region-of-interest (ROI) reconstructionproblem, also referred to as the local CT problem. Our schemeincludes two steps: (a) the local truncated normal-doseprojections are extended to global dataset by combining a fewglobal low-dose projections; (b) the ROI are reconstructed byeither the generalized filtered backprojection (FBP) orbackprojection-filtration (BPF) algorithms. The simulation resultsshow that both the FBP and BPF algorithms can reconstructsatisfactory results with image quality in the ROI comparable tothat of the corresponding global CT reconstruction.
