摘要

The Army is using future vertical lift platforms as pilot programs for its new intellectual property strategy, according to the director of the service's aviation office. The strategy was crafted by Army acquisition executive Bruce Jette, Army Futures Command leader Gen. Mike Murray and Army Materiel Command chief Gen. Gus Perna to "fully address intellectual property early in the lifecycle of an aircraft through the developmental phases," Patrick Mason, program executive officer for aviation, said at a Heritage Foundation virtual event today. The strategy involves looking at "critical intellectual property that the [Army] needs to have to ensure the long-term sustainment of aircraft" and how to balance that with how industry uses intellectual property, he said.
