Asymptomatic severe occlusion of the internal carotid artery (ICA) in a Chinese patient with multiple cerebrovascular and cardiac stenoses

This is a case report about chronic occlusion of internal carotid artery and vertebral artery with mild clinical transient neurological deficit. This patient also had severe stenosis of the coronary circulation. Highlights ? This present case supports the point of improvement in collateral blood flow can take place inpatients with an ICA occlusion. ? This present case raises some important speculations. ? Chronic severe occlusion of internal carotid artery and vertebral artery may cause mild clinical neurological deficit.
